supporting OUR local community for a PROSPEROUS FUTURE.
Our surrounding communities are important to us. We want everybody to be able to enjoy the variety of local parks and communal facilities and services as they were intended - to be of benefit and bring enjoyment to local people.
This is why we offer all employees the opportunity to take paid time off to volunteer for activities that helps to maintain and improve these areas.
Many of these events are organised by Community Matters Partnership Project (CMPP), a charity which we are proud to be founding members of, which supports businesses in the region to connect with voluntary organisations, charities, local authorities and education providers, for the benefit of their communities.
Farnborough Airport plays an active role in funding the development of local facilities. Over the last decade it has resulted in more than £850k in grants to enhance community areas.
Through the Farnborough Airport Community Environmental Fund, charitable organisations and community groups within a three-mile radius of the Airport are eligible to apply for a grant to improve an outdoor community facility.
Over the years, this has resulted in the creation, development and restoration of all number of projects for school playgrounds, local parks and nature reserves, grassroots sports teams and other community projects.
Applications for grants can be made on the Rushmoor Borough Council website.
As longstanding contributors to our local community, we are committed to supporting the prosperity and economic development in the region, with particular emphasis on forging improved links between the airport and its surrounding areas.
Farnborough Airport regularly sponsors prominent local events such as Music in the Park, Hampshire Business Awards, Farnham Carnival, Bordon Soapbox and Rushmoor Community in Bloom.
In 2023, Farnborough Airport also opened its doors to the Nexus, a dynamic learning and development centre located at the airport available to hire for both community and staff events. Benefitting from the latest conferencing and events technology, including simultaneous in-room and virtual live-stream presentation capabilities, the Nexus offers an inspiring space for groups of up to 60 people. The space also features a full-scale wall mural designed by a local student from the University of the Creative Arts, Farnham. For more information about the Nexus or to hire the space, please contact: enquiries@farnboroughairport.com
Recognising a range of social issues prevalent within our community, with social isolation, mental health and the cost of living crisis being examples, we support and work alongside CMPP and other charities to empower the lives of the affected within the region through a fundraising and volunteering programme.
We strive to be a considerate and responsive local business, through a range of charity support designed to support the vulnerable within the community.
